Sodashi skincare for your mind, body and spirit

Sodashi skincare for your mind, body and spirit

Sodashi blends therapeutic grade natural ingredients to formulate high performance skincare. After a long flight from New York to Melbourne my skin was in the true need of high performance. Traveling from a hot summer climate into a chilly winter, the Sodashi range puts your skin right back on track to transition into a new climate without losing any further water or minerals.
Sodashi founder Megan Larson Once in Australia enter Gemma Skane Sales & Marketing Co-Ordinator  who is based in Perth WA with Sodashi,  she recommended that I use Clay Cleanser with Lavender as my skin was dehydrated from the climate change morning and night,  followed by Calming Rose Face Mist to rejuvenate with a boost of moisture, finished with Calming Face & Neck Moisturizer .
Clay Cleanser with Lavender This combination uses two of the ranges in Sodashi REJUVENATE for dry and dehydrated  skin, this line contains anti-aging Lavender, Gotu Kola and Rosewood to promote healthy cell renewal while vitamin rich pant oils deeply nourish and protect the skin. Combing with products from the CALM line that ensures the skin will not be irritated, using ingredients such a Chamomile, Sandalwood, Lavender and Rose to keep the skin calm soft and supple.

Calming Rose Face Mist Sodashi founder Megan Larson created Sodashi products to be unparallel in performance and purity and she did not want to make any compromises in this skin care range. The name Sodashi originates from the Sanskrit word meaning Wholeness, Purity and Radiance, and the statement Sodashi has about its brand, ‘From seed to shelf, Sodashi remains true to its name.’

Calming Face & Neck Moisturizer .You’d be hard pressed to find a negative review on Sodashi products online, but you can find their products at some of the best locations around world that have to be on someone’s bucket list. So with that is mind most skincare users are concerned about cost and there are a lot of products out there costing just as much as Sodashi â€" and more.  What you can experience with Sodashi is that  the quality of these products is SO great, that just a little is needed with each application to be effective.  You may pay more initially but they go a long way, and if that sounds like a standard line, it totally true. One last point which I feel is worth a mention, Gemma Skane who is the perfect voice for Sodashi told me that every morning the team in Perth meditate as a group, a health initiative that Megan started for her team, how wonderful to have your mind, body and spirit valued as an employee…go Sodashi.

Fabien Magris a salon stylist with French finesse in New York City

Fabien Magris a salon stylist with French finesse in New York City

A person’s hair style usually is the first thing that you notice when you meet them, so it’s important that the consultation with a stylist goes beyond the question of “what do you want to do with your hair?” This question is never uttered when you visit Fabien Magris at Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger in New York City. Magris will tell you that he is going to study your hair each time you have an appointment, he is totally in charge of the consultation, just listen and learn.
Nicole KidmanFabien Magris began his career as a stylist in Paris at Jacques Dessange, where he first met and worked with Serge Normant under creative director Bruno Pittini.  Moving to New York he reunited with Normant at John Frieda, working closely with him in the world of high fashion, including shows for L'Wren Scott and Bulgari. He has also styled for Dolce and Gabbana , and his celebrity clientele covers Nicole Kidman, Jane Fonda, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rita Wilson and Renée Zellweger.

Fabien Magris At the Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger, Fabien brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the restoration of dry, damaged hair, working to transformed from it tired and neglected to thick, fabulous, shiny and, most importantly, healthy.  So begin with healthy, which should be the cornerstone of your hair, Fabien immediately questions the type of water you are drinking as he lifts the hair to look at the hair growth pattern, feel the texture and observing how the hair is naturally falling. When you give your answer he stops to explain how your hair is working in tandem with the nutrients in the body and feeding the hair follicle.

Maggie Rizer

As he talks about the natural fall of the hair he continues onto the issue of shampooing, many clients have gone the organic route with a focus on dropping sulfates, from Fabien’s experience the total removal of sulfates from a hair cleanser has an effect on the keratin to leave the hair limp and in some cases contribute to an overall thinner hair. The recommendation is that every now and again use a sulfate hair cleanser, the sulfate or salt in the shampoo will restore some body to the hair, but again the stress for the organic client is to use “occasionally.”
When moving to the wash area, Brenton Diallo a salon Stylist Assistant, is advised by Fabien on the recommendation of shampoo to be used, they then discuss the conditioner and again Fabien reiterates to Benton the reasons why this choice. Brenton explains that there are over 10 assistants who work to support the stylists, and every week at Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger Salon the assistants have educational training from one of the senior artists, so that they can continually upgrade their education, skills and knowledge.

As Fabien styles the hair, he explains why he is cutting in a certain way so that you can manage it when you leave, a question of which scissors are the preferred choice, Fabien comments that, “It is the skill of the stylist first that is important, not the equipment,” and that if he had to, he could cut your hair with a pair on nail scissors.  When drying the hair, feel the heat on the hands as you move through the hair, if you hands feel it’s too hot, then your hair is feeling is far more. Move quickly across the scalp with a feel of control and when every possible use a professional hair dryer, if the hair is naturally curly there is no need to use a brush to style, the cut speaks for its self.
Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger  Salon,  17 East 71st Street, New York, NY 10021.In New York City, finding a stylist is like find a good doctor its hard work but the amount of trust and advice you need in this city in particular, is worth making an effort to see Fabien Magris at the Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger  Salon,  17 East 71st Street, New York, NY 10021.

Kiehls deep breath its the new Aromatic Blends

Kiehls deep breath its the new Aromatic Blends

There are so many people on the beauty planet who have tried a Kiehl’s product infact they have become a staple for nearly every single one of our beauty needs for example when it comes to body lotion, the brand’s legendary Crème de Corps is hard to beat. But fragrance isn’t typically something we look for when we pick up a Kiehls product from this apothecary-turned-international success story. A permanent library of well-crafted scents has never really been Kiehl’s forte that is until now. Kiehls announced  that its new Aromatic Blends collection would arrive mid year. Aromatic Blends officially launched online June 27th and unsurprisingly, it does not disappoint. There are four scent families, the collection features ingredient duos that are naturally derived and sustainably sourced from all over the world: The Orange Flower and Lychee blend incorporates essences from the stem, flower, and leaf of the Moroccan bitter orange tree for a fuller-bodied finish; the Vanilla and Cedarwood concoction spotlights sustainably sourced Madagascar vanilla beans and smoky cedarwood from Virginia; the Nashi Blossom and Pink Grapefruit duo showcases natural grapefruit extractions; and the Fig Leaf and Sage pairing features Mediterranean sage notes for a sweet, nutty quality. More impressive are the advanced aromatic reproduction technologies Kiehls has employed to re-create the exquisite smell of exotic ingredients, like Japanese Nashi flower and fig leaves from Provence, which are too delicate to physically extract. Included in each range is a Body Cleanser, Fragrance and Body Lotion, which shares the same squalane, shea butter, and botanical oil formulation that makes Kiehl’s Crème de Corps such a favourite, enjoy an aromatic blend fragrance incorporated into your body treatments.Photo: Kiehl's Since 1851
