The luxury brand Yves Saint Laurent is launching a very limited edition palette for their Facebook fans exclusively on their Facebook page, which they tag as a ‘social product’. The range is quite affectionately called “Devoted to Fans” and has been created in conjunction with Facebook. It uses the same blue Pantone of the popular networking site and will be produced in a limited number of 1650 pieces only. These Pure Chromatics Devoted to Fans palette initiative launches on July 19, on Facebook you have to like the brand's Facebook page first. The palette features four huesâ€"blue, white, grey, and black, just like the Facebook logo. This is a "declaration of love" to YSL fans, there are only 1,650 available, with any Facebook fan who buys the Devoted To Fans palette receiving "privileges" such as exclusive information, perks and services through their Facebook feed and in store. You’ll have to wait till it releases in September. In the 23 years I have known of Environ, I have never had the fortune to meet or listen to Dr. Des Fernandes the founder of this global brand, until I spoke with Krista Eppelstun Digital Marketing Coordinator at Margi Fox distributors for Environ, lucky for me Krista told me that Dr. Des was giving a presentation in Melbourne, sign me up for this rare opportunity.
Environ put their stamp on the skin care world in 1985, Dr. Des Fernandes is a plastic surgeon  and he was on a mission to support the surgery he was doing in Cape Town with creams that would  aid in the repair of scars.

Dr. Des Fernandez the founder of EnvironPrior to this in 1967 Dr. Albert Kligman at the University of Pennsylvania’s dermatology department had found the right product formulation for what would become known at Retin-A.   The discovery was licensed to Johnson & Johnson, who introduced Retin-A in 1971. Soon after Retin-A was approved; Dr. Kligman’s older acne patients at that time began telling him that the prescription drug appeared to have other benefits: their skin was smoother, with fewer wrinkles.  Intrigued, Dr. Kligman performed some experiments that confirmed what his patients were saying. This discovery was licensed to Johnson & Johnson, who introduced the prescription anti wrinkle cream Renova in 1996.
AVST (Advanced Vitamin Skin Therapy)Following on in 1976 while in South Africa Dr. Des worked on the Retin A formulation to bring the formula into the cosmeceutical industry, over the years while his patients saw results beyond their expectations in regard to acne, he worked tirelessly to improve formulations and develop the range.

From the red carpet the new trend for this summer: waved and curly hair. Here are all the tricks to tame and wear them. A global brand is exactly what NARS is in the world of cosmetics, a recent meeting with James Boehmer NARS Global Director of Artistry on his promotional trip at Australia at the key Myer stores, gave an insight to how this brand builds their following with key products to match global make up needs developing products across a number of skin tones, skin textures, environmental changes.  NARS speaks to so many cultures, with colors and skincare that work within fashion from New York, London, and Hong Kong to Sydney.James who is based out of New York is travelling the globe to speak to NARS makeup artists and NARS customers on the new NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, the outstanding qualities are simple but effective, there are three key points to this tinted moisturizer, first of all a skin treatment, a tint that offers a setting coverage to helps reduce the appearance of hyper pigmentation and finally an SPF30 to work against the effect of the suns radiation. NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer advanced sun protection with SPF 30, hydrates the skin with Kopara from French Polynesia with mineral rich seawater to revive and re-mineralize skin and according to François Nars "I love being at my home in French Polynesia, so I wanted to bring as much of the islands into this product as I could. The Galaxaura, for instance, is a mineral-rich, deep sea algae that grows in the warm tropical waters of the Polynesian islands’ tidal zones." Being the right hand to François Nars, James has worked  on a number of fashion  runway collections  with him personally he recalled one that he worked on,  which was  after a 10 year hiatus that François Nars  returned  to fashion runway in a larger than life way by leading the makeup direction for Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 2009 show. It included working with 65 models, and creating 65 different makeup looks. Nars unexpected return to fashion week was attributed solely to Marc Jacobs.

Tony travels regularly to the US to collect all the upcoming trends that NARS will launch each year, and Tony could not stress enough how thrilled they were to have James in Australia being that it was so hard to secure a place in James global schedule.
