The Yves Saint Laurent Northern Lights Holiday 2012 Collection is going to probably of the most wanted Christmas makeup collections. This Christmas Yves Saint Laurent takes inspiration from the northern lights for their holiday look, the main colors of the collection are violet, midnight blue and mother-of-pearl which are all tones that can be seen in the natural light phenomenon. Lloyd Simmonds Yves Saint Laurent Creative Director YSL Beaute recalls his own memories of beautiful skies:â€It’s an incredible phenomenon and I have many memories from witnessing this magical moment in my childhood,†Lloyd revealed.The strange sight of the atmospheric and bizarre lights can be described as romantic, beautiful and simply divine.
These are the same words that can be used to describe the memorable products from the Northern Light holiday look, some of the standout pieces of the collection:La Laque Couture Top Coat No 33 Première Neige a nail laquer with pink and blue glitter interwoven. Golden Gloss â€" N°55, glacial blue with a fresh, transparent highlight and N°56, snow white with pearly, lunar highlights. The collection consists of two eyeshadow palettes in turquoise, night blue, and gray shades, two mascaras in plum and black, limited edition Eyeliner Effect Faux Cils, Boreal Highlight Palette, Radiance Blush in two color versions, Golden Gloss in white pearl and sparkling turquoise, and a hologram effect La Lacque Couture.
Most of the products in the collection are limited edition except for #07 Cassis Obscure Shocking mascara and a #12 Pure Chromatics Palette which are permanent. Boréal Palette Highlighter in a beautiful sequined textile case luxurious to hold, giving a healthy glow to face when applied on cheek bones, brow bones and décolletage.
The Northern Lights will be released on October, 14.
